Not every patient fits a standard prescription.
Commercial medications come in fixed doses and a limited range of forms. But patients aren't standard — and that's where compounding changes everything. At Precision Rx, our licensed compounding pharmacists work directly with you and your physician to create a medication that fits your biology, not the other way around.
Whether you need a unique dose, an allergen-free formula, or a form that's easier to take, we build it from scratch with pharmaceutical-grade ingredients and rigorous quality standards.

Ashley D Verified Google ReviewYour Compounding Questions Answered
Have questions about compounding pharmacy, your medication, or how to get started with Precision Rx? Here are answers to what our patients across Alabama and the Southeast ask most.
Ask a PharmacistA compounding pharmacy creates custom medications tailored to the specific needs of individual patients. Unlike chain pharmacies that dispense mass-manufactured drugs, compounding pharmacists formulate medications in custom doses, strengths, and delivery forms — such as creams, capsules, troches, or liquids — based on a physician's prescription.
Commercial medications are manufactured in standardized doses and forms approved by the FDA. Compounded medications are custom-made for a specific patient when a commercial option doesn't meet their needs — for example, if they require a different dose, are allergic to an inactive ingredient, or need a form that's easier to take, such as a flavored liquid instead of a tablet.
Yes. We accept e-prescribe, fax, and written prescriptions. Ask your physician's office to contact us directly if needed.
Most compounded prescriptions are ready within 24 to 48 hours after we receive a valid prescription. Complex formulations or specialty preparations may take a bit longer. We'll always give you an accurate timeline when you drop off or call in your prescription.
Not at all. We are licensed to ship compounded medications throughout Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, and we work with patients and physicians across the region — not just those close to our Vestavia Hills location. Our pharmacists are available by phone or text to consult and assist wherever you are.
